Make Every Day A Drug Take-Back Day!"We took a simple idea and ran with it. We don't have to wait for take-back. Why not have take-back every day?" Norfolk County, MA District Attorney Michael W. Morrisseyfrom BostonGlobe.com
Norfolk County, MA District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey visited the MedReturn team recently at the National Rx Drug Abuse Summit and shared how pleased his community is with their MedReturn Units. Massachusetts has installed over 100 MedReturn Drug Collection Units throughout the state with county-wide programs in Middlesex, Norfolk and Northwestern Massachusetts. Police departments in these counties have partnered with their District Attorney's offices to offer MedReturn Drug Collection Units at their facilities. We applaud the efforts of Massachusetts for bringing attention and a solution to the epidemic of prescription drug abuse. "It is the cheapest and most effective thing we've ever done to get drugs off the street. It is safe and secure. No questions asked, you can throw your pills in and nobody checks what is inside the bottle," Morrissey said of the drug collection units.
